Frequently asked questions
Yes. Caspian Catering is the name many catering clients know us by. Catering is now part of Prins Caspian, with the same people taking care of the food and arrangements.
Prins Caspian is a Persian family restaurant in Utrecht. Shirin and Sasan do the cooking, using fresh herbs and making everything in their own kitchen, from stews and rice to Barbari bread, ice cream and desserts.
Prins Caspian is open on Thursday and Friday from 12:30 to 21:00, and on Saturday from 17:00 to 22:00. Takeaway is available during these hours too.
Walk-ins are welcome too. We recommend booking on Saturdays and for larger groups so you can be sure of a table.
Thursday and Friday centre on stews with saffron rice. Saturday is for kebabs from the grill. Starters, side dishes, desserts and drinks appear on both menus.
Yes. Vegetarian and vegan options are always available and change regularly. We often prepare a vegetarian or vegan version of one of our stews. Ask when booking or at the table what is available that day.
We accommodate allergies and dietary requirements where possible. Mention them when booking and again at the table so we can advise honestly about ingredients and possible cross-contamination.
Dishes can be collected during opening hours. For larger orders and delivery, use the catering enquiry so we can discuss the options.
Yes, groups are welcome. For a larger party we can compose a menu that lets everyone taste several dishes. Reserving part of the space can also be discussed.
We are happy to help in Dutch and English. Part of the team also speaks Persian.
We are at Trumanlaan 70 in Utrecht, near Kanaleneiland. Bus and tram stops are within walking distance and free parking is generally available nearby during restaurant opening hours.

Persian food is our foundation, with saffron rice, stews, kebabs, mezze and fresh side dishes. We also prepare Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and international dishes and can combine styles.
Options include delivery, buffets, shared dining, walking dinners, seated dinners, lunches, bites, staff, setup, clearing, crockery and cutlery. These are examples; together we choose what suits the occasion.
We cook for small gatherings as well as large events and festivals. Share your estimated guest count, location and plans, and we’ll tailor the menu and service to suit.
We normally ask for the final number no later than four days before the event. If something changes afterwards, contact us and we will see what remains possible within the preparation.
The catering booklet and website provide examples, but almost every proposal is tailored in practice. We coordinate flavours, courses, service, dietary needs and budget together.
Yes. We can include vegetarian, vegan and for example gluten-free options and account for reported allergies. For serious allergies, we discuss the possibilities and the risk of traces or cross-contamination honestly.
Share the date or period, location, type of occasion, expected guest count and wishes. We discuss what fits and send a clear proposal covering menu, service, materials, travel and VAT.
