Privacy and cookies

Cookie information

You choose whether Prins Caspian may use analytics, advertising measurement and external media. Non-essential services remain off until you consent or deliberately open an external feature. Last updated 7 September 2026.

Your choice

Everything is off by default.

We ask you to make a choice on your first visit. Accepting and rejecting all are equally easy. You can choose individual categories and change your selection later through Cookie preferences in the footer.

  • Necessary: always active
  • Analytics: only after consent
  • Marketing: only after consent
  • External media: only after consent or a deliberate one-time action

Necessary

For preferences and security.

The website stores your consent choice for up to 6 months in your browser’s local storage under pc_consent_v1. This is not a tracking cookie. The enquiry form also uses server-side protection and a temporary pseudonymised IP hash, without setting a browser cookie.

  • Purpose: remember your choice and limit form abuse
  • Preference retention: 6 months
  • Anti-spam hash retention: up to 16 minutes (15-minute checking window)

Analytics

Measurement without form contents.

Without using a cookie, the website stores daily aggregate counts by page and important action only. These counts contain no visitor ID, IP address, user agent, referrer or form contents and do not recognise individual visitors. After statistics consent, we additionally load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 for richer insight. Names, email addresses, phone numbers and messages are not sent to Google Analytics.

  • Cookieless daily aggregate counts: up to 24 months
  • Google Analytics cookies such as _ga and _ga_*: intended maximum lifetime of 13 months
  • Google Analytics event-level data: up to 14 months
  • Google Tag Manager manages tags but does not itself set a tracking cookie

Marketing

Ready for Ads, not automatically active.

The website supports Google Consent Mode. Google Ads, remarketing or personalisation tags may load only after marketing consent. There are no active advertising campaigns at the time of this publication. If we activate Google Ads, we use the marketing category for conversion measurement and — only with consent — relevant audiences.

  • No marketing consent means no marketing cookies from our tags
  • You can withdraw marketing consent at any time
  • Google may use its own cookies for advertising measurement; their duration depends on the Ads feature enabled

Maps and bookings

External services only when you use them.

Google Maps loads automatically after you allow external media. Without that permission, we show a calm placeholder, a direct directions link and an option to load the map for that visit only. The TheFork module loads only when you choose to view available tables. Loading either service connects your browser directly to Google or TheFork; they may process your IP address, browser information and their own cookies.

Change your preference

The choice remains yours.

Open Cookie preferences in the footer of any page to switch categories on or off. Withdrawing external media closes the loaded map. Withdrawing analytics or marketing reloads the page to stop loaded measurement services. You can also remove cookies already stored on your device through your browser settings.
