We serve stews with saffron rice on Thursday and Friday, and kebabs from the grill on Saturday. Vegetarian and vegan options are always available, often as a variation of one of our stews. Ask us what we’re cooking that day.

From our kitchen
Homemade, right down to the bread and ice cream.
Shirin and Sasan make the dishes, Barbari bread and ice cream in their own kitchen. They welcome you personally and are happy to talk you through the menu. In spring and summer, you may also find Persian herbs from their garden on the table.

Yes. Caspian Catering is the name many catering clients know us by. Catering is now part of Prins Caspian, with the same people taking care of the food and arrangements.

Prins Caspian is a Persian family restaurant in Utrecht. Shirin and Sasan do the cooking, using fresh herbs and making everything in their own kitchen, from stews and rice to Barbari bread, ice cream and desserts.
What are the restaurant’s opening hours?+
Prins Caspian is open on Thursday and Friday from 12:30 to 21:00, and on Saturday from 17:00 to 22:00. Takeaway is available during these hours too.
Do I need to book or can I walk in?+
Walk-ins are welcome too. We recommend booking on Saturdays and for larger groups so you can be sure of a table.
What do you serve on Thursday, Friday and Saturday?+
Thursday and Friday centre on stews with saffron rice. Saturday is for kebabs from the grill. Starters, side dishes, desserts and drinks appear on both menus.
Do you have vegetarian and vegan options?+
Yes. Vegetarian and vegan options are always available and change regularly. We often prepare a vegetarian or vegan version of one of our stews. Ask when booking or at the table what is available that day.
Can you accommodate allergies and dietary requirements?+
We accommodate allergies and dietary requirements where possible. Mention them when booking and again at the table so we can advise honestly about ingredients and possible cross-contamination.
Can I order takeaway or delivery?+
Dishes can be collected during opening hours. For larger orders and delivery, use the catering enquiry so we can discuss the options.
Is the restaurant suitable for groups or celebrations?+
Yes, groups are welcome. For a larger party we can compose a menu that lets everyone taste several dishes. Reserving part of the space can also be discussed.
Which languages do you speak?+
We are happy to help in Dutch and English. Part of the team also speaks Persian.
Where is the restaurant and can I park nearby?+
We are at Trumanlaan 70 in Utrecht, near Kanaleneiland. Bus and tram stops are within walking distance and free parking is generally available nearby during restaurant opening hours.
Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?+
Yes. The restaurant is step-free and readily accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
